Hi, it’s me, Martha. Just your ordinary Christian woman.

Martha – my name – means exactly that: a Christian woman, or simply: lady

My life is about something simple: to know, behold, and love Jesus Christ, His Father, and His Father’s Spirit, to live a life devoted to and in worship of Him, and to see Him honored and glorified.

While I say it’s about something simple, I realize the everyday practice of that isn’t always. Living in this world, I sometimes get distracted, confused, feel pushed and pulled in all kinds of directions, get overwhelmed by the noise of this world, its wars, pains, and sufferings, or my very own. Mostly, probably, my very own.

But, enter the Good News of Jesus Christ, and the world begins to shift. And this is where I find myself – on the journey of shifting my world, my life, my mind, soul, and body, my heart and my will to the Good News of Jesus Christ, and all that it entails. As I navigate the twists and turns, the ups and downs, the mountains and valleys, the rocks and stones, the wildernesses, oasis and springs along this journey, I am praying that I will continually focus on the Kingdom of God, and become more like Him as I seek to continually behold Him.

I want Him to be woven into every part of me and my life. I want to serve the Lord with all my heart, just like Martha did, and yet I want to sit in the presence of Jesus, gazing upon Him, devoting my heart to Him, and giving Him my very best as I worship and adore Him.

I invite you into some of my journey here, bearing in mind that they are unfinished thoughts and only a partial view of a full picture that will, on a glorious day in the future, be revealed to us.

His beauty and presence are everywhere, He is all around us, and as heaven meets earth, His glory meets our raw humanity and brokenness, and His light is seen where the two meet. Much of the Christian life is in that middle space, in that space where heaven meets earth. And so these things is what I write about, in hopes that all my words, all my life, all my being, will always point to the One who deserves it all. That is why, even though you may have come here to learn more about this Martha and her MaryProject, I will not say more about me for now. Who I am, who my people are, what I do in life, or specifics about my beliefs, my story, my brokenness, my erring and detouring, at the end of the day, do not matter all that much. So for now, this is all I will say, because at the end of the day, when all is said and done, He is all that matters.

His grace has brought me here, and because of Him, I am in His presence.

From Him and through Him and to Him are all things (Romans 11:36)
